Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada Steven had his film debut at the age of 10 with the National Film Board of Canada’s THE RED DRESS. His acting debut occurred some years earlier, at age 7, when he performed in drag as Betty Boop in the Kiwanis Festival. Following those auspicious beginnings, Steven continued to act in many local theatre productions.
The passion and dedication he continues to have for acting, took Steven on some other paths following those formative years. He played volleyball in both the Canada Summer Games and with the National Champion University of Calgary Dinosaurs before beginning his Dostoevsky-Buster Keaton travels. Honing in on reading as much literature, gathering as much life experience, and writing it all down as much as possible while living in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal before spending some years living in Europe -Milan, London, and Paris. Eventually landing in NYC where with little money, no working papers, and knowing but a few people Steven returned to pursuing his acting as a career.
By the time the ’00’s rolled around, Steven was fortunate enough to get work in notable NYC shows such as ONE LIFE TO LIVE, LAW&ORDER, and THIRD WATCH. He soon began working in commercials doing VO work for almost every product he had certainly ever heard and that good fortune allowed him the opportunity to design and assist in the building of his hedonistic country house. One of the greatest loves of his life, his son, was born and Steven’s family remains a great inspiration and support for him.
He might be best known these days as the actor behind Trevor Phillips in GTA V, but can be seen in many other productions. Most recent credits include the upcoming HBO’s WESTWORLD, AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD, and BETTER CALL SAUL, BROAD CITY, and is excited to be starring in an upcoming sc-fi feature, SOLIS.
